Push vs Pull Marketing: Which One Is Best For You?

Today’s post is pretty straightforward!

There’s just one question I wanna ask you….do you wanna use marketing to PUSH or PULL people into your business? Let me explain.

The pull:

Think of someone going to Pinterest and clicking your pin. They’re interested so they click over to your website to see more. This is PULL marketing. The person is actively searching for you, and you showed up for them!

The push:

Now think of someone who signed up for your email list. You use their email address to target them with an ad they'll see while watching a video on Youtube. This is PUSH marketing. The person isn't necessarily searching for you in that moment, but you’re now in their world.

These are VERY simple examples and there’s nothing wrong with either strategy, right? As a matter of fact, companies often use both tactics within their larger marketing strategy!

But to be honest, I’m a bigger fan of pull marketing. It’s all about creating your own cool world and ATTRACTING people to you! You become a destination where people wanna go 🤩

If you’re a freelance designer who’s all about the pull, then you’re probably a really good fit for my program Powerhouse Web Designer — this is the exact perspective I teach designers inside the course!
